Authorised representative
If you sell directly to consumers in a country where your business isn't established, you will often need a local representative for packaging EPR. In Germany it's mandatory since 12 August 2026.
What a representative does in Germany
- Signs the dual-system contract (system participation) on your behalf
- Submits quantity reports and any declaration of completeness to LUCID
- Handles take-back and deposit duties where they apply
What stays your job
- Registering in LUCID in your company's name
- Keeping your registration data up to date
- Giving your representative accurate quantities
Rules for the appointment (Germany)
- Based in Germany and not affiliated with your company
- A written agreement in German, signed by hand or with a qualified e-signature
- Only one representative at a time
- Entered in LUCID before you first sell
How we help
We explain the role, help you compare providers, prepare the information they need, and enter the appointment in LUCID with you. The exact arrangement and its cost are in your written offer.
