LUCID & Germany
Germany has no small-seller exemption: the duty starts with the first parcel. We take you through LUCID, the dual system and, if you're based abroad, the authorised representative.
Who it's for
- Etsy, Amazon, eBay, Kaufland or Shopify sellers shipping to customers in Germany
- Shops based outside Germany, in the EU or outside it
- Sellers whose listing was blocked for a missing LUCID number
What you'll need
- Company name and address as in your marketplace account
- VAT number and/or tax reference number
- Your brand names
- A rough count of parcels and the packaging you use
What we help with
- Checking whether you are the “producer” in your setup
- Your LUCID account, master data and brand names, in your name
- Estimating packaging weights by material
- Choosing and signing a dual-system contract
- Finding an authorised representative if you're based abroad
- Quantity reports, and matching your data with your marketplace account
How a LUCID registration works
From an empty account to your first quantity report.
- 01
Create a LUCID account
Sign up on the ZSVR portal and confirm your email. Registration is free.
- 02
Enter your master data
Company name, address, VAT number and tax reference, exactly as in your marketplace account. Sellers abroad add their authorised representative here.
- 03
Add your brand names
The brands shown on your packaging. No brand? Enter your company name.
- 04
Sign a dual-system contract
License the packaging that reaches consumers (boxes, filler, tape) with a dual system. The fee depends on weight and material.
- 05
Report your quantities
Report the same quantities in LUCID that you licensed with the dual system, and keep them in sync.
Sellers based abroad name their authorised representative already in step 2, and the representative then takes over steps 4 and 5. Registering in LUCID stays your own duty.
